Bloodline Dance Company Terms & Conditions

1. General

1.1. Enrolment with Bloodline Dance Company is governed by all published Terms and Conditions. By enrolling with Bloodline Dance Company, you confirm that you accept our Terms and Conditions.
1.2. Once enrolled, the student is a member for the full calendar year. You are responsible for and agree to pay all fees for the calendar year.

1.3. Students may not undertake dance training at another dance studio while enrolled at Bloodline Dance Company unless approved by directors E.g., Training in a different style we don't offer, doing a dance course etc. Attending casual classes, dance programs etc at other studios is encouraged.
1.5. Written notice must be given if discontinuing into the next term. 


1.6. Written notice is required if not returning in the new year.

2. Bloodline Conduct

2.1. No defamatory remarks or opinions are to be made or expressed about Bloodline Dance Company or its products, services or its business methods. No defamatory remarks or opinions are to be made or expressed about any party to a litigation in which Bloodline Dance Company is involved.
2.2. Under no circumstances should bullying, harassing, offensive comments or defamatory remarks be made about any employees, customers or students, of Bloodline Dance Company.

2.3. Bloodline Dance Company reserves the right to excuse any student/parent for bullying, swearing, disrespectful behaviour and/or breaches of any of the stated Terms & Conditions. The decision is at the sole discretion of the Directors.

3. Commitment

3.1. Enrolment with Bloodline Dance Company provides the opportunity for students to learn dance and the valuable attribute of commitment. Support from both teachers and parents/guardians is essential to support the development of this commitment.
3.2. Regular class attendance is vital for students to develop and progress with their dance style and remain up to date with routine choreography. It is the student’s responsibility to catch up on any choreography missed prior to the next practice.

3.3. Students must be punctual to all classes, workshops and performances. Should you be running late please communicate via text or call.
3.4. At the event of an absence a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required. Special or unforeseen circumstances will be taken into consideration.

4. Class Behaviour

4.1. Students will not use cell phones during class except in emergencies.
4.2. Noise level inside and outside the dance studio must be kept to a minimum as excess noise can disrupt both teachers’ and students.
4.3. During class, students are expected to listen and show respect to their peers and teachers. Bloodline Dance Company reserves the right to remove any disruptive student, parent/guardian or observer.
4.4. Bloodline Dance Company strives to maintain a friendly environment to enhance learning opportunities for students. However, if students or parents/ guardians have any concerns they should contact us.

5. Class Viewing

5.1. All classes are closed to viewing except the first trial lesson. Bloodline Dance Company strives to create a positive and encouraging environment for our dancers to learn and train.
5.2. In the event you are able to spectate, it is imperative that anyone viewing a class keeps noise to a minimum. As you can appreciate, it can be extremely distracting to both students and teachers.

6. Presentation & Property

6.1. Inappropriately dressed or groomed students may not be permitted to participate. 6.2. All student belongings must be named. If you have lost property, please contact us.

6.3. Lost property unclaimed at the end of each term will be given to charity.
6.4. Bloodline Dance Company holds no responsibility for lost or damaged personal items.

7. Choreography

7.1. Choreography for classes, competitions and performances remains the sole property of Bloodline Dance Company.
7.2. Choreography must not be copied or used without prior permission from the Directors of Bloodline Dance Company.

8. Social Media

8.1. It is accepted that Bloodline Dance Company clients will have contact via social media with students and their parents. Bloodline Dance Company clients undertake not to post any comments on social media relating to the Company, Company personnel or students that are inappropriate, unprofessional, negative, derogatory or libellous.

9. Communication

9.1. It is the responsibility of all parents and students to read Bloodline Dance Company notices on the Facebook private group pages which is updated weekly.
9.2. Any changes to personal details should be notified promptly to Bloodline Dance Company in writing to ensure our records are kept up to date.

11. Promotion of Bloodline Dance Company

11.1. Students, parents and guardians agree and accept that any photography or video footage of students, uniforms or routines choreographed within Bloodline Dance Company may be used for promotional or advertising purposes and remains the sole property of Bloodline Dance Company.

12. Fee policy

12.1. ALL registrations are subject to our membership fee of $50. We offer two payment terms. No other terms or cycles accepted:
i. Weekly or fortnightly direct debits. If choosing this option, you are signing up to pay the nominated amount for 10 consecutive weeks from the first week of each term. Debits will pause once your term fees are paid off and will restart in the first week of the following term unless four weeks written notice is provided. Service provided by Paysmart.

ii. Full term fees paid up-front by the first day of each term.
12.2. If students have not signed up for direct debit AND fees are not paid up-front by the first day of each term the students WILL NOT be admitted to class. NO exceptions.
12.3. If paying term fees up-front, payment can be made by cash or bank transfer.
Two weeks’ notice in writing MUST be given if discontinuing.
New students starting the term prior to Week 3 will be charged full term fees, those starting from Week 3 and beyond will be charged on a pro-rata basis for the remainder of the term.
12.4. A student with an illness/injury requiring them to miss more than two weeks of classes can apply for a credit to their fees with a medical certificate. He/she must obtain a written medical clearance to restart classes.

12.5. Fee’s do not cover costs such as: competition registration fees, performance uniform, national & international travel costs.
12.6. Trial Class - Any new students enrolling with Bloodline Dance Company may attend one trial class free of charge.
12.7. Re-enrolment may be declined if you have outstanding fees.

13. Financial Hardship & Outstanding Fees

13.1. If you have concerns about your ability to meet these financial obligations and would like to discuss, please advise us prior to enrolment.
13.2. Any outstanding fees will be discussed in the first instance, followed up with an email, letter or phone call and finally, if they remain unpaid, referred to a debt recovery agency. Any costs incurred with the recovery of the debt will be added to the account.

14. Refunds

14.1. There will be no refund of term fees if a student leaves a class after two weeks into term. In some cases, fees may be refunded with a $30 cancellation fee. 

14.2. If a selected class is cancelled during the term due to unforeseen circumstances, Bloodline Dance Company will calculate and refund the fees for the remaining lessons.

14.3 Changing classes at any time will not incur any charges unless there is a discrepancy in the term fees. 14.4 No refunds are given for missed classes, missed classes due to overseas trips, family holidays or birthdays etc. Refunds may be granted due to illness, injury or bereavement. Medical certificates may be requested.

15. Competition Crews

15.1. All competition positions are reviewed annually. Please note: these positions are not automatic from year to year.
15.2. Entry into competition crews is by invitation/audition only. Decisions are final. Please set up a meeting with directors if you wish to receive feedback. A position is held for a year or a year’s competition cycle.
15.3. Bloodline Dance Company reserves the right to withdraw any student from competitions or crew if they are not achieving the required standard in dance, commitment or attitude.

15.4. Competition students may need to attend additional rehearsals. Communication regarding extra classes will be notified in advance and may not be necessary for every competition.
15.5. All Competition dance choreography is the property of Bloodline Dance Company.
15.6. If your child is injured, a written medical clearance (a medical certificate or email) is required by the Directors. The Studio Director will make a decision on each case giving consideration to the impact on both the dancer and the crew. The final decision will be made by the Directors in consultation with the medical professional and parents/caregivers, as to whether or not the dancer continues to dance.

15.7. If at any time a student is not performing to their full ability or are not coping with the demands of the team, a meeting will be requested to discuss a recommended course of action.
15.8. Dancers are responsible to make up missed material before the next rehearsal.
15.9. If a minor injury or illness occurs the student is still an active participant of the crew and must attend all rehearsals and shows.

15.10. Further invitations to new students and current students may be issued during the year.

16. Competition Entry

16.1. Bloodline Dance Company will enter selected competitions. A list of these will be provided as soon as possible after decisions are made.

17. Competition and Performance Uniforms

17.1. Each student is required to purchase a uniform for each competition and performance routine in which they feature.
17.2. Payment must be received in full before the costume is released to the student.
17.3. Once purchased, the uniform is, and will remain, the property of the student. The uniform should be worn only for its intended purpose when dancing with Bloodline Dance Company. When those routines are no longer being performed by Bloodline Dance Company, the uniform may be used for other purposes. It is the responsibility of the student and parents/guardians to take good care of all costumes provided.

18. Health, Safety, Injury and Medical

18.1. Bloodline Dance Company provides a safe environment to protect the safety of students and reduce the risk of injury. However, dance is not without risk and it should be recognised by all students, parents and guardians that participating in dance classes may occasionally result in personal injury.

18.2. Bloodline Dance Company takes all reasonable care in conducting its classes and requires that parents and guardians ensure that their child/children are physically and medically fit for class.
18.3. At all times during class, students are responsible for their own personal safety. Students must not behave in ways that may put themselves or others at risk.

18.4. Students, parents or guardians must immediately notify the teacher when an injury or medical condition occurs prior to, or during class. A first aid kit is taken to classes and is available for any student to use with the permission of the teacher.
18.5. Students are to bring water for each class.

18.6. Bloodline Dance Company students are under supervision during class time only. Teachers and staff are not responsible for students outside their allocated class time.
18.7. If you/your child is injured, please inform Bloodline Dance Company, seek advice from a medical professional and make a well-informed plan for recovery.

19. Dismissal

19.1. Bloodline Dance Company reserves the right to dismiss a student or parent/guardian or observer who breaches any of the Bloodline Dance Company Terms and Conditions.
19.2. ALCOHOL and DRUG TAKING is not permitted at any classes or performances where Bloodline Dance Company students are participating.

19.3 Bloodline Dance Company reserves the right to expel any student or parent for bullying, swearing, disrespectful behaviour and/or breaches of any of the Bloodline Dance Company Terms & Conditions. The decision is at the sole discretion of the Directors.

20. Studio Rules

20.1. Students are required to clean up after themselves and maintain neat and clean studios, hang out areas and toilets.
20.2. If you break a piece of furniture or any studio resources (mirrors, flooring etc.) you will be required to cover the cost to replace it.

20.3. No rubbish is to be left around the car park. Please dispose of any rubbish in our studio rubbish bins. 20.4. Stealing of Bloodline Dance Company or any of our members/family’s property will result in immediate termination of your membership.
